Default Guild Wars or Guild Wars: Factions?

yeah, so i'm thinking of buying Guild Wars, now the thing is.
i know that there is Guild Wars and Guild Wars: Factions.
now i want to know what's the best choice if i want to go play.

does GW:F has the same possibilities as that GW haves?
perhaps i'm a really noob asking this, but i just want to make things sure.

thank you for your time.

From my experiences, If you havn't played either I strongly reccomend buying Prophecies first. You will get to know Guild wars better with prophecies and in my opinion it is a far superior game over Factions. In factions you are basically dropped in at the deep end and left to get on with it. Prophecies on the other hand gently guids you through how the game works through beautiful landscapes, exciting quests etc. So if i was in your schoes, I'd 100% get Prophecies first.

Hope this helps.

Prophecies is better. Use the search if you ever get a chance.

Prophecies would be better to get to know Guild Wars, however Factions is currently where a good amount of the players are.

It's up to you, if you buy Prophecies and enjoy the way it plays, perhaps you will buy Factions in the future.

is guild wars the same as guild wars: prophecies or are there three different kind of 'games'. (gw, gw: factions, gw: prophecies).

sorry for all these questions, but i'm confused right now.

i would go with guildwars.....

for some reason i just liked guild wars better then guildwars : faction

if you care about graphic alot guildwars faction is ur choice, if u just want long game play that doestn bore you , i go with guild wars, but the other problem with that choice would be not that many people play guild wars anymore....

Guild wars = Prophecies if they want to say the first one. They're only 2 Chapter now : Prophecies and Factions. Even if I like Faction than Prophecies, I suggest starting in Prophecies than Factions because you can learn more easely and have more content than Factions. I know Factions doesnt need a core to play with but it stay an expansion. When we say expansion, we say add more content for the old one.

Again, I suggest Prophecies for the starter

Yes. Definately. The way I see it, Factions is an expansion pack.

allright, now there only rests 1 problem, which is:

howmany players do actually play prophecies now?
cause most likely most players went to play factions.
are there still enough players playing prophecies to do quests with and are there still enough active guilds on there?

thank you for your time, once again.

Even I have both Prophecies and Faction, I play in Prophecies with my news skills and such. I see many players in Prophecies. The problem in Faction for now is too many ppl play there. But yeah, players keep playing Prophecies. You can see some Factions Characters in some area but they still playing in Tyria.

Edit: Btw, if you buy Faction first, you'll lack some skills because you havent Prophecies. Factions has less skills than Prophecies.

For a quality game, go with ch 1.If you wanna punch a hole through you're LCD screen, buy Fuctions.

They are only two new character and they wont be dominant character classes. These classes aren???t the best in PvP either, but still pretty good. So, when it comes to characters you aren???t mission out.

Another thread on this???

New Player - Guild Wars or Factions

There's plenty of people playing Guild Wars (AKA GW: Prophecies). Not as many as there were before Factions came out, but it's not any harder to get a mission/quest group together than it was before, just fewer districts in any given town/outpost.

I'd go with Guild Wars initially, too - more skills, better storline (relatively speaking), more content, the quests are more enjoyable to do. Also it's got a more gradual learning curve so you're not thrown right into the deep end.
